Bananagrams Game from Bananagrams
The Bananagrams game was created by a family with ages between 7 and 75. The family had a passion for word games; and this obsession grew a desire to create a game that was a little more fluid than the classics, such as scrabble. The only other pre-requisite that the family had that was it had to be enjoyable for an entire family to play together.
Armed with these basic requirements the family then started to brainstorm for other related ideas that would make the game enjoyable and they ended up with a few further requirements after this; it had to be very portable and have no unnecessary packaging or playing pieces so a game could be played anywhere quickly and easily.
The result was Bananagrams.
Bananagrams is neatly packaged game that comes in a banana shaped case, that can easily be stored in a car or bag, and one hand can be played in as little as five minutes. Although one hand can be played in five minutes it's usually best to allow a little longer, as it can feel a little addictive!
The name came from the saying “The anagram game that will drive you bananas!” – hence BANANAGRAMS!! I have to thank my father for his cleverness with that!
The game is quite similar to scrabble, but without the board. All letters are spread out, face down, into a central bunch. Depending on the number of players a certain number of letters are taken from the centre 'bunch'. Each player then has to make as many words as possible from their letters. Letters can be exchanged for others if they are un-usable. The winner is decided by the inability of everyone to make any more words; the champion is the person who has the most words. Bananagrams is very easy to pick up and play; but very hard to put down and stop!
A gift for the scrabble lover in you!
