The Trim Phone; a fashionable alternative to your standard house phone..

Conceived during the 1960's, the Trim Phone gave the public an alternative design of phone to the traditional handset.  The Trim Phone's name is derived from an acronym of Tone Ring Illuminator Model; a name taken from the new phones electronic bell ringer which was chosen in place of the traditional bell ringer and the illuminated phone dial.

The current model of Trim Phone's are still called Trim Phone's even though they the feature buttons do not illuminate.  On these new models from Wild and Wolf the number buttons are actual buttons, not a dial as the original; a far superior design when it comes to typing long numbers!  The original styling of the phone has remained unchanged; it has just been updated for the 21st Century with modern push button dials and an array of bright bold colours.

The Trim Phone was:

  • Designed by Martyn Rowlands
  • Known initially as Telephone Number 712
  • Able to have a silent mode by unscrewing a screw on the ringer board.
  • Put into production in 1965
  • Originally available in 3 two-tone colours
  • First available with a keypad in 1977
