The Royal VKB Garlic Crusher - The easiest way to crush garlic?

Has Ineke Hans created the easiest way to crush garlic?  Her simple but incredibly effective design of garlic press was designed for Royal VKB and is a truly fantastic piece.  So fantastic that it has also won a Red Dot Design Award.

The problem we've always found with conventional garlic press's is that they are full of small nooks and holes that make cleaning an absolute nightmare!  They are impractically shaped to clean and how are you expected to clean out all of those little holes if a string of garlic has decided to embed itself?

The Royal VKB garlic crusher is an incredibly simple design that has no difficult to clean bits; it is one piece of stainless steel.  The garlic crush has a flat edge; designed to initially crush and split the garlic clove to aid in the removal of the skin. The rest of the central circumference is made up of a series of ridges that easily crush the garlic as simply roll over the clove; simply enjoy the the sensation of rolling until you have garlic of sufficient 'crush level' (we made that term up but it just seems to fit!).

'But wait, there's more!'  This amazing garlic crush also deals with the other by product of crushing garlic; the smell.  The use of stainless steel in the crusher means that after you've finished with it you simply need to rinse it under the tap to get it clean; after cleansing simply use it as you would a bar of soap to remove the garlic smell from your hands.  Brilliant!!
